VINTAR, Ilocos Norte, Dec. 29 (PIA)- As part of the continuing drug cleansing program of President Rodrigo Duterte, the community-based rehabilitation center being established in Tamdagan village here is now nearing completion with its 95 percent status.
This center will serve as an outpatient processing center for mild to moderate drug-dependent surrenderees.
This will be manned by social workers and health personnel for the holistic reformation of those who were hooked into illegal drugs.

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) released its funding amounting to Php95 million for the drug rehab construction.
The fund was personally handed over by DDB Undersecretary Earl Saavedra to Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc last year.
“We put communities at the center of all our anti-drug efforts and our intention is to really help local government units (LGUs) put up rehabilitation facilities na tutulong sa ating mga kababayan na napariwara ang landas at naging biktima ng paggamit ng illegal na droga,” Saavedra said during the turn-over of funding.
Recently, 17 LGUs in Ilocos Norte have been recognized during the 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Special Awards for sustaining the Drug-Cleared status of their drug-affected barangays.
These towns are Adams, Bacarra, Bangui, Banna, Burgos, Carasi, Currimao, Dingras, Dumalneg, Marcos, Nueva Era, Paoay, Piddig, Pinili, San Nicolas, Sarrat, and Vintar.
Meanwhile, eight LGUs have sustained their unaffected barangays namely, Bacarra, Solsona, Burgos, Vintar, Laoag City, Pagudpud, Pasuquin, and Piddig. (JCR/AMB/MJTAB/PIA Ilocos Norte)
